In the current marketing year 2017/18, Ukraine exported cereals with a volume of 27.99 million tonnes. For the previous marketing year 2016/17 this is a decrease of 9%. The amount includes 13.4 million tonnes of wheat, more than 4.0 million tonnes of barley and over 10.3 million tonnes of corn.
Ukraine harvested 61.3 million tonnes of grain last year. In 2016, the record volume of 66 million tonnes of grain was harvested.
Acting Agriculture Minister Maksim Martyniuk recently announced that exports could reach 40-41 million tonnes. In the 2016/17 season, around 44 million tonnes of grain were exported, of which 17.4 million tonnes were wheat.
