Ukraine: Grain exports so far 57% weaker

Ukrainian grain exports in the marketing year 2020/21 (July 1 to June 30) remain weak and have so far reached a volume of 719,000 tons. At the same time last year, 1.7 million tons of grain had already been exported, reports the Ministry of Economy.
Exports as of July 17 include 370,000 tons of corn, 159,000 tons of wheat and 186,000 tons of barley. The ministry did not say whether the exported grain was harvested this year or last year.
Ukraine harvested 75.1 million tons of grain in 2019, but due to unfavorable weather conditions, the harvest could be weaker this year.
Ukraine is one of the five largest wheat exporters in the world. In the 2019/20 season, the country exported 56.5 million tons of grain.
