Ukraine: Grain exports will decline in 2020/21

Ukraine has so far exported 21.08 million tons of grain in the 2020/21 season, the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced today. That is 11.3% less than the exports in the same period of the previous season. Because of the smaller harvest, less corn and wheat could be sold.
Traders exported 5.20 million tons of maize (previous year: 6.84 million tons). Wheat exports fell from 13.15 million tons to 11.83 million tons. The total export volume also included 3.70 million tons of barley.
Ukraine accounts for around 16% of global grain exports and sold almost 57 million tons of grain to foreign buyers in the 2019/20 season.
The government estimates that exports could fall to 47.4 million tons in the 2020/21 season.
