Ukraine has exported 19.8% less grain so far this season

Grain exports from Ukraine in the 2020/21 marketing season, which began on July 1, totaled 5.1 million tons up to August 19. In the same period of the previous year it was 6.36 million tons on this date.
The decline in exports is mainly due to lower corn exports. So far 502,000 tons of the coarse grain have been exported, in the previous year up to August 19 this had already been 1.68 million tons.
3.03 million tons of wheat and 1.56 million tons of barley were also shipped to buyers abroad. The ministry has not broken down how many of the grain exports were harvested in 2019 and how much was harvested in 2020.
In 2019 the grain harvest was 75.1 million tons, in 2020 a harvest of 72.1 million tons is expected. The weather was not so ideal this year.
Ukraine was the fourth largest wheat exporter in the world with 56.5 million tons in 2019/20. The ministry did not announce the amount to be exported this season.
