The Ukraine is in the current marketing year (1.Juli 15-30 June 16) has become the most important wheat supplier for the EU(28). With 1,637 million tons of wheat, representing 49% of the total wheat imports in the EU, the Ukraine has delivered more wheat in the EU, as the United States, Canada and Russia together. Of the amount, around 950,000 tonnes were duty-free imports. It is being negotiated to further market liberalisation between the Ukraine and the EU(28).
In the marketing year of end of the Ukraine has carried out 15.5 million tons of wheat and 16.4 million tonnes of maize. The Government in Kiev predicted that grain exports in the following fiscal year will rise to total 37 million metric tons.
