In view of the current crisis in Ukraine, the prices for corn, wheat and rapeseed have risen significantly. According to data from the February USDA report, Ukraine accounts for only 4.3% of global wheat production, but accounts for 11.5% of world trade. Russia itself produces around 9.7% of the global wheat harvest, but has a higher share of total exports at 16.8%. In the case of corn , 17.2% of global exports come from Ukraine, amounting to 33.5 million tons with a production volume of just 42 million tons. Here, Russia's share of 2.3% in world trade is no longer significant.
