Ukraine: Urgently needed rainfall is expected over the weekend

Rainfalls, which could support the sowing of winter crops in Ukraine, are expected this weekend, according to weather services. The rain will likely reach most of the regions and last at least two days, the data shows. Analysts, who last week called weather conditions the worst in 10 years, said on Wednesday that only 10% to 15% of Ukraine's arable land is suitable for sowing winter crops for the 2021 crop due to a severe drought. Ukraine traditionally starts sowing winter crops in early September, but this year farmers have not started yet due to the drought.
