Ukraine: Wheat export prices rose $ 5 last week

The wheat export prices in Ukraine rose by $ 5 last week due to good international demand, reports the Ukrainian agricultural consultancy APK-Inform. According to this, Ukrainian wheat with 12.5% protein cost around $ 204-207 / tonne FOB Black Sea. 11.5% protein wheat was paid between $ 5- $ 6 more (range: $ 203- $ 206 / tonne FOB).
Last year Ukraine harvested a record 75.1 million tons of grain. In 2020 the harvest will probably only produce 70 million tons due to unfavorable weather conditions.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs announced last week that grain exports in the 2020/21 season (July to June) fell by 22% year-on-year to 5.93 million tons as of August 26th.
Ukraine is the world's fifth largest wheat exporter and exported a total of 56.5 million tons of grain in the 2019/20 season. The government did not make a forecast for the 2020/21 season.
