Ukraine: Wheat prices rose last week

The stable demand from importers from abroad and worries about the delay in winter grain sowing led to an increase in export prices for wheat from Ukraine by USD 6 per ton in the past week, reports the agricultural consultancy APK-Inform. The price of 12.5% protein Ukrainian wheat rose in the first half of last week and then fell to $ 231-235 per tonne on an FOB basis, the company said in its weekly report today. The price of 11.5% protein wheat ranged from $ 230 to $ 234 per tonne of Black Sea FOB. The Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Affairs announced that farmers have not yet started sowing winter wheat for the 2021 harvest because it is clearly too dry in the growing regions. Ukraine is one of the world's largest wheat producers and exporters and plans to export 17.5 million tons of wheat for the 2020/21 season.
