Ukrainian grain trade surplus could reach 40 million tons

Ukrainian grain export surplus could reach 40 million tons in the season 2015/16. The Ukrainian grain association "Ukrainian Agrarian Association" (UAA) announced that yesterday's Thursday. The grain harvest is expected to reach a volume of 63 million tonnes. Included are 25 million tons of wheat, 8 million tons of barley and 28.5 million tons of corn, as UAA Director Serhiy Stoyanov. So far, the Ukraine has exported 2.6 million tons of grain in the 2015/16 (July-June) marketing year.
The entire closing stock could reach 74 million tonnes this season, while local consumption to a moderate level of 24 million tons. With an export volume of 40 million tonnes of the closing stock at the end of the marketing year would rebuild 2015/16 to 10 million tons.
Agriculture Minister Oleksiy Pavlenko according to cereal exports could by 2015/16 to a record value of 36 million tonnes increase versus 35 million tons of 2014/15.
By August 4, Ukrainian farmers harvested 31.2 million metric tons of grain according to the Ministry of agriculture.
