Institutional investors reduced their SRW wheat net long portfolio as of November 2nd, 21st (5,900 contracts) in the week ending November 9th, 21st to 3,328 net long contracts. The investor group of "institutional investors", to which banks, insurance companies, fund companies, etc. belong, is thus still predominantly bullish in wheat. That comes from the COT report of the US Department of Agriculture, which was published on Friday evening after close of trading in Chicago.
In corn, the net long position was reduced to 319,609 contracts (-4,951 contracts).
In addition, "institutional investors" reduced the net long soybean stock by 30,544 contracts to 12,137 contracts.
Since the report is always published by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) with a delay of almost a week, all changes after November 9th are not taken into account in this update. For this reason, we publish the estimates of the position changes for "institutional investors" in our news ticker on a daily basis. However, options are not taken into account in the daily estimates!
