Institutional investors increased their SRW wheat net long portfolio as of 11/16/21 (15,258 contracts) in the week ending 11/23/21 to 17,963 net long contracts. The investor group of "institutional investors", to which banks, insurance companies, fund companies etc. belong, is thus still predominantly bullish in wheat. That comes from the COT report of the US Department of Agriculture, which was published last night.
In corn, the net long position was increased to 366,691 contracts (+25,556 contracts).
In addition, "institutional investors" increased the net long soybean inventory by 19,850 contracts to 49,338 contracts.
Since the report is always published with a delay of almost a week by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission), all changes after November 23 are not taken into account in this update. For this reason, we publish the estimates of the position changes for "institutional investors" in our news ticker on a daily basis. However, options are not taken into account in the daily estimates!
