Institutional investors reduced their SRW wheat net long portfolio as of 11/23/21 (17,963 contracts) in the week ending 12/7/21 to 721 net long contracts. The investor group of "institutional investors", to which banks, insurance companies, fund companies, etc. belong, is thus only minimally bullish in wheat. That comes from the COT report of the US Department of Agriculture, which was published on Friday evening.
In corn, the net long position was reduced to 332,501 contracts (-34,190 contracts).
In addition, "institutional investors" reduced the net long soybean stock by 11,456 contracts to 37,882 contracts.
Since the report is always published with a delay of almost a week by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission), all changes after December 7th are not taken into account in this update. For this reason, we publish the estimates of the position changes "institutional investors" on our daily news ticker. However, options are not taken into account in the daily estimates!
