US commission cuts harvest forecasts

The EU Commission has reduced its forecast for the 2020 grain harvest in the EU-27. The forecast for usable common wheat has been lowered from 116.6 million tons (previous month) to 113.5 million tons. The latest supply and demand forecast shows that the Commission has reduced the wheat export forecast in the current marketing year 2020/21 from 25 million tons to 24 million tons. The forecast for the EU maize harvest has also been reduced from 72.55 million tons to 70.2 million tons. The forecast for the EU-27 barley harvest has been lowered from 54.1 million tons to 53.9 million tons.
