Corn contracts found no consistent direction on Euronext yesterday. While the front dates were able to increase slightly, some later dates went into the red. A similar trading picture emerged in the USA on the CBoT. Here, only the later dates were able to record profits. According to market observers, the main reason for the losses was profit-taking and technical sales. At the same time, the cultivation situation in the important growing regions of the USA has improved. In Argentina in particular, rain fell at the weekend and thus provided a slight relaxation. Many producers emphasized that it is not yet clear whether the precipitation will improve the growing conditions in the long term. According to the USDA, corn exports totaled 1.582 million tons, just above the level of the previous week.
