Summer wheat sowing in the United States was on 5% of planned land (previous week: 2%). Estimates ranged between 4-6% (5-year average 15%).
Corn is also sown on 5% of planned land (previous week: 2%). A progress of 4-12% was expected. The 5-year average is 5%.
Heavy winter snowfall of 20-40 centimeters in the northern regions of the Central Plains and the northwest of the Midwest led to an interruption of summer wheat and maize sowing.
