The U.S. Department of Agriculture released the weekly crop progress highlights last night. According to this, 53% of the US winter wheat stocks are in top condition compared to the previous week (55%), a decrease of 2%. Analysts expected an average decrease to 54%.
The summer wheat sowing took place on May 10 on 42% of the planned areas (previous week: 29%, previous year: 38%, 5-year average: 63%). Analysts had expected 49% more progress.
