Last night, the U.S. Department of Agriculture released the Crop Progress report, which is currently updated weekly. According to this, corn is completed on 88% of the planned areas (previous week: 80%; previous year: 55%; 5-year average: 82%). Analysts had expected sowing progress of 90%. 70% of the maize plants that have emerged are in top condition.
