US ethanol prices at 13-year low

Yesterday, US ethanol prices fell to a 13-year low. The production volume of the corn-based energy source is currently larger than expected.
The weekly report of the US Energy Information Administration showed that last week's production was 6,000 barrels a day greater than average. It was last produced 1.048 million barrels a day. Inventories increased by 139,000 barrels to 22.93 million barrels.
Some traders had expected production to drop as many manufacturers barely earn anything from ethanol production. Ethanol prices were already very low in relation to the costs of corn and the use of energy (LPG). In these unfavorable market conditions, production is no longer worthwhile and ethanol production should actually be reduced. Now that pushes the margins.
