US export figures disappoint

Weak US export data weighed on trading yesterday. According to the USDA, bookings for wheat totaled 155,000 tons. Around 366,000 tons were shipped. Cumulatively, the export business amounts to 15.14 million tons. According to the USDA, corn bookings totaled 980,000 tons, which was at the lower end of expectations. Altogether, corn exports in the current season amount to 30.3 million tons. The export figures for soya were also significantly weaker than expected. Bookings for oilseed came in at 412,000 tons and were therefore below market participants' expectations. At the same time, the value is almost 70% below the average of the past four weeks. However, the USDA confirmed a new deal for 318,000 tons yesterday.
