The U.S. Department of Agriculture released its weekly U.S. Crop Progress Report last night.
This shows that 55% of US winter wheat stocks are in top shape, a 1% increase from the previous week (54%). In the past year, the share was 64% at the same time. Analysts expected a share of 53%.
Summer wheat sowing is completed in the United States on 29% of the area planned for it, up from 14% the previous week and 19% a year ago. The 5-year average is 43%. The expectation of the analysts was 30% (range: 23-35%)
Corn has already been sown on 51% of the planned areas (previous week: 27%; previous year: 21%; 5-year average: 39%). Analysts expected sowing progress of 48% (range: 42-58%).
For soybeans , 23% of the planned area has been reserved (previous week: 8%; previous year: 5%; 5-year average: 11%). Analysts expected 21% progress (range: 16-35%).
