USDA expects China to cancel orders for corn imports

The USDA has been criticized in the past few days for its assessment of China's corn imports. The agency left its forecast for China's corn imports at 7 million tons, while more than 10.5 million tons have already accumulated in the suppliers' order books.
Although the government in Beijing has announced that it may want to increase the import quota, this has not yet happened.
The experts at the USDA apparently assume that some of the orders that have already been placed will be canceled.
