After the CBoT resumed trading, wheat prices are very volatile. May wheat on the Matif has been trading between EUR 331.50 as a low and EUR 371.25 at its peak and thus within a range of EUR 40 in just one day. After trading reopened, the CBoT initially went into the red. However, May wheat is quoted here at the hour (1:28 p.m.) at 1054.50 US cents/bu again 70.25 US cents higher than yesterday and thus again exceeds the 10 dollar mark. The current high volatility on the Markets can also be seen on the cash markets, where bid and ask are far apart in many places, making actual pricing difficult if not impossible.
