The middle of the week ended with moderate price gains on the Paris stock exchange. The most traded December increased by EUR 2.0/ton to EUR 327.25/ton. The wheat harvest is over in parts of the EU. The report comes from Romania that around 9.5 million tons were taken from the fields and the result is 1.8 million tons below the level of the previous year. A harvest of 6.5 million tons is expected in Bulgaria and thus cannot match the previous year's level (-0.66 million tons). In the US, wheat futures continued to rise ahead of the WASDE report. A slight increase in US production is expected here. Due to the weakening dollar, many traders are currently hoping for an upturn in export business. Today's results for the week are expected to range from 200,000 to 600,000 tonnes.
