Western Europe: Late winter wheat sowing, but no major problems

Winter wheat sowing in Western Europe is on it later this year, as in previous years. The Reuters news service reports. Dry weather leads to delays in winter wheat sowing in parts of Western Europe. The acreages are but stable and currently no major problems are visible.
The planting pace behind that of the past year is the largest wheat producer in the EU, France, where it suffers from to dry conditions in the fourth month in a row. This reports the French agricultural consultancy FranceAgriMer.
The seeding pace has grown somewhat, because rain in the largest growing region are expected for the next few days.
In Western Europe, the American national weather service anticipates below-average rainfall until 11 November. But also the water demand of the young plants is low due to low temperatures.
