Wheat Import: Indonesia requires pest control from Ukraine

Indonesia, a major importer of Ukrainian wheat, has called on Ukraine to carry out pest control on all wheat deliveries. The measure must already take place before loading and under the supervision of the Ukrainian Phytosanitary Department.
Fumigation should contribute to the fact that the pests from the customary grain silos are killed, and no longer come in the export. The Indonesian Quarantine Agency intends to reject all imported grain lots containing live animals. This measure should be strictly applied from 1 January 2019.
Indonesia imported 2.3 million tonnes of wheat from Ukraine in 2017/18 (July / June). Ukraine exported a total of 17.2 million tonnes of wheat during this period.
