Chicago wheat prices are trading moderately this morning, but are looking back on the largest 3-day loss since April 2013. 7.8% lost wheat futures in the last 3 days. At the weekend, rainfall in the US Plains made for relief and for the coming days weather services forecast further rainfall. A winter storm on Monday caused snow and rain in Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado in the southern US plains. The winter wheat stocks awaken in these days from the hibernation. In this phase, sufficiently moist soils are important for good development. Institutional investors yesterday sold 13,000 lots of CBoT SRW wheat.
