The downward trend in wheat continues. Yesterday, Monday, the leading March date on the Euronext/Matif fell by 1.25 euros per tonne to 287.50 euros and today's trading day is also showing clear red signs for the grain. The pressure on the stock exchange is also making itself felt on the local cash markets. Prices fall when sales are low. Buyers and sellers do not always agree. For Südoldenburg, 295 euros/t were last quoted for fodder wheat, buyers mostly ask 300 euros/t. Global competition continues to be the main reason for the downward trend over the past few days. According to the analyst firm IKAR, fob prices in Russia have fallen further, but demand for wheat for export has recently also eased. The country's state statistics agency confirmed its figures for the last wheat harvest at 104.43 million tons. According to analysts, a cold wave sweeping across Russia should not bring any significant disadvantages for the winter wheat stocks. Trading on the CBoT was suspended yesterday due to a public holiday. With the start of trading today, however, there are also red signs here.
