Wheat: strong increase is slimmed down

According to the USDA report, wheat prices on the CBoT eased yesterday more than 3%; that was the sharpest cut in the last two weeks. The USDA estimates that the heavy rains of the last few weeks have improved wheat supply. The U.S. was estimated winter wheat harvest at 1,505 billion bushels, that 33 million bushels more than in the last estimate. The U.S. closing stock 2015/16 are now at 814 million bushels seen in the may estimate, it was still to 793 million bushels.
In advance analysts had focused more on potential quality loss due to the weather, which resulted in price increases by 12% in the last month on the Futures Exchange. Reality shows now but first of all a bigger harvest volume and the strong plus is slimmed down now on 8%.
Since the fierce rains U.S. continue to Plains during the harvest in, remain quality fears for the hard red winter wheat on a topic, as well as the drought in the Canadian Prairies. There, there has been yesterday but a little rain, but by far not enough for the wheat.
Morgan Stanley commented this morning that the USDA report reflects a balanced market in wheat; It was aware however of the production risks in Canada and Australia, where the crops need to develop only once.
