According to UkrAgroConsult, winter freeze stocks in Ukraine are in good shape overall. The latest report by the agricultural advisory firm shows that 87.1% of the stocks are in good to satisfactory condition, while 12.9% of the stocks are in poor condition.
7.24 million hectares of land in Ukraine were ordered with winter crops, including 6.3 million hectares of wheat, 813,000 hectares of barley and 150,000 hectares of rye.
UkraAgroConsult increased the monthly wheat harvest forecast by 4.8% to 26.3 million tonnes in 2018, mainly due to a larger sowing area. Winter wheat stands for 95% of total wheat production in Ukraine. In 2017, Ukraine harvested 61.3 million tonnes of grain.
