Winter wheat area in Germany 4.7% smaller

The German acreage for winter wheat for the 2018 harvest has decreased by 4.7% compared to the previous year. The statistics office announced today that 2.98 million hectares of winter wheat were ordered in Germany this autumn.
A decline was expected as rains prevented all planned areas from being ordered.
