The EU Commission wants to make on-the-spot checks with the help of satellites - which now provide up-to-date data on stocks and crops in the fields - superfluous. EU Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan is very interested in the simplification of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) based on space technology.
