Soybeans were unable to recover on Friday and closed weaker again. The November contract lost 6.00 US cents and ended at 1027.00 US cents/bushel. The September contract lost 5.50 US cents and fell back to 1006.50 US cents/bushel. Soybean meal for October improved by 0.40 US dollars to 280.50 US dollars/short ton.
Export data again had a negative impact: A net 23,775 tons were cancelled for the old crop, still a significant decline compared to the previous week. New bookings for 2025/26 amounted to 818,474 tons, the lowest figure in four weeks. China remained completely on the sidelines. The largest buyer was an unknown destination with 269,000 tons. Mexico and Japan followed with smaller volumes.
In Winnipeg, canola fell by Can-$ 3.40 to Can-$ 616.80/t in November. Canada is pinning its hopes on diplomatic efforts: A high-ranking delegation traveled to China to negotiate the reduction of existing canola tariffs. So far, however, the market reaction has been muted.
In Paris, rapeseed for November remained unchanged at €461.25/t.
