On Friday, the signs were green after a weak start to trading. Following the publication of solid export figures, futures still managed to record moderate gains at the close of trading. The January contract recorded a gain of 0.75 US cents/bushel to the equivalent of €345.21/t. However, the soy complex was not uniform - soybean meal recorded losses. The beans were supported by the USDA's announcement that 840,000 tons of soybeans had been sold to unknown buyers. In total, exports amounted to 2.49 million tons by 21 November. The result was in line with expectations. China leads the list of buyers with 40% of exports. Around 200,000 tons went to Mexico and also to Germany. On Monday, traders are awaiting the monthly USDA report on soybean processing in October. The market is expecting 210.9 million bushels.
