USDA Lowers Corn, Soybean Estimates

The U.S. Department of Agriculture lowered its estimate for corn and soybean yields in a closely watched monthly report today after less-than-ideal weather the past month curbed crop prospects.

The USDA pegged corn yields at 167.5 bushels an acre, down 1.3 bushels from the August forecast.
