Coceral EU rapeseed harvest in 2022 forecast by 6% higher yoy umbrella organization of European grain and oilseed traders (COCERAL) estimates based on the previously known acreage and average yield assumptions an EU rapeseed harvest in the amount of 18.4 million tonnes (previous year: 17 , 3 million t). The main reasons are a 4.1% increase in acreage and the expectation of a slight increase in area yields compared to the previous year. Increasing results are expected for France (+12.8%), Germany (+ 3.6%) and the Baltic Poland (+4.4%) as well as the Czech Republic (+1.4%). In Romania , an increased area under cultivation is offset by falling yield expectations to an average level. In Bulgaria, on the other hand, an increasing harvest is predicted due to the expansion of the area and expected yields again at the average level. However, the expected better result will not be sufficient to cover the needs in the EU-27 in 2022 either. As a rule, a rapeseed import quantity of 4 to 5 million t can be assumed. For the other oilseeds, sunflower (one third of production) and soy (10% of production), COCERAL estimates that the harvest will tend to decline in 2022
