DRV confirms lowest rapeseed harvest for decades with 2.8 million t - rapeseed prices are picking up. The German Raiffeisenverband (DRV) essentially confirms its estimate of a very low German rapeseed harvest in the amount of approx . 2.9 million tonnes compared to the long-term average of 4.75 million tonnes . The main reason for this is the 30% fall in acreage compared to the previous year, which had also seen a reduction in rapeseed area. The background to this is the difficult order work as a result of the previous year's drought and the limited availability of pesticides. After all, the almost average rapeseed prices were not very attractive for rape cultivation compared to competing crops. Although rapeseed yields this year are around 32.6 dt / ha, around 9% above the weak previous year, but still below the long-term average. There were particularly pronounced crop reductions in Saxony-Anhalt with -50.4%, in Brandenburg with -46.8% and in Hessen with -43.2%. In the middle area of the crop falls to Baden-Württemberg scroll (-31%), Rheinland-Pfalz (-33.2%), Bavaria (-23.9%) and NRW (-23.5%). In a lower region, the federal states of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (-10.1%), axes (found -14% and Thuringia (-18.7%). In all cases, the reduced area under cultivation was the main reason. Exception Rheinland Palatinate , which had to cope with a 20% reduction in area and a yield reduction of -16.4% in the areas with significant rainfall this year as well , which does not look particularly good for rapeseed cultivation, as rapeseed prices are picking up after a period of weakness the ascending branch. The Paris Stock Exchange is currently trading at € 375 / t and rising. In the background are the higher soy and palm oil courses.
