USDA: Global oilseed market situation in 2023/24 hardly changed from the previous month Global oilseed production in 2023/24 is estimated to be unchanged from the previous month at 658.5 million tonnes. Consumption will increase by 1 million tonnes to 648 million tonnes. This means that stocks will only decrease insignificantly and, at 130.6 million tonnes, will remain above the average of previous years. With 396.7 million tonnes produced, soybeans have a significant share (61%) of the oilseed market. Production and consumption are still estimated at the previous month's level. The cuts expected for Brazil were not adopted; the USDA is sticking with a Brazilian harvest forecast of 155 million tonnes. The above-average global stocks were essentially maintained. Compared to the previous year, the supply situation has improved by around 13% in terms of rising stocks. The USDA estimates the 2023/24 rapeseed harvest to be slightly lower at around 88.4 million tonnes. A smaller result in China will be offset by better results in India. Production in Canada and the EU-27 has increased slightly.
