Demand for ware potatoes continues to be quiet. The offers from the field have largely been cleared and can only rarely be found. Peeling companies continue to show little interest in free goods and can utilize their capacities with contracted quantities. Demand from food retailers is comparatively low. But the offer is also manageable. In the federal mean, the quotations have recently continued to rise. In particular, mainly firm-boiling varieties have recently been able to record higher prices in all major producing regions. In the Netherlands the market is more dynamic. The food retailer is currently advertising potatoes there and the catering industry is also reporting needs. Different tendencies emerged on the market for processing potatoes. While Belgapom and Reka recently left their quotations unchanged, the Dutch trading ranges and average prices were raised yesterday. The deforestation has ended almost everywhere, until mid-November the market participants still expect that it will be possible to order directly from the fields or from field clamps. The chip factories mainly process contract potatoes and are rarely interested in free goods.In the Netherlands, the prices for Cat 1 potatoes increased, but there are still very few sales. Many farmers are quite happy to offer their goods because they want to avoid storing them because of the high storage costs and quality problems in some cases. They rarely find buyers. The Dutch export business, on the other hand, is doing satisfactorily. The exporters are well utilized and can load their quantities with stable prices. On the EEX , the contracts for April 23 and April 24 are clearly moving upwards today. There is still no interest in the June 23 contract.

The prices on the food market indicate stability and this should not change for the time being. However, stock quantities could hit the market sooner than many are currently expecting. Prices on the processing market are definitely under pressure, mainly because many farmers are reluctant to store them.
