There are no sales for processing potatoes on the futures exchange in Leipzig today. In the April 23 contract, buyers and sellers are too far apart for that. While the buyers have positioned themselves at EUR 25.10/dt, the sellers are at EUR 25.70/dt. In the Apri 24 contract, too, the difference between the bid and ask price is 50 cents per quintal. The situation on the market for processing potatoes in Germany remains calm. The factories are only very sporadically looking for free quantities, but there are reports of a slight increase in demand in individual areas. Innovator in particular is wanted, it is said, which is why the Reka also raised the listing to 26 euros/dt. Business in Belgium is also very quiet. The factories ask little here, too, and because of the high storage costs, more and more farmers are offering their goods. Belgian exports to third countries are also rather subdued. In France, prices for processing potatoes are stable. Here, too, the demand for free games is very subdued. Unlike in Germany and Belgium, however, the producers do not yet offer their stored goods extensively. Here, too, the Innovator variety is particularly in demand, and there is also a real free market for other varieties in France. At the food market , the signs are also unchanged. The quotations are everywhere at the level that was higher in the previous week. Unlike the producers of processing potatoes, the food producers do not rush onto the market with their stored goods. The quantities offered are therefore manageable. Food retail and direct sales are currently quieter, which is typical for the season. There are currently no sales campaigns.
ZMP Live Expert Opinion
Quiet - that's how the markets for both processed goods and ware potatoes can be described. Nothing is going to change that anytime soon. The processing market tends to be under pressure because of farmers' willingness to sell and the low demand from factories. Table potatoes remain stable.
