The potato market is picking up thanks to increased consumer demand. This is in line with normal seasonal behavior, although the level is slightly below average. Demand for ware potatoes was also high due to their good quality. Domestic goods predominate. Only French batches from abroad showed a small presence on the market. Ultimately, supply and demand are balanced, so that the demands of most distributors remain unchanged.
Further negotiations will show whether storage surcharges can be implemented in the coming weeks. Prices on the EEX are continuing to rise moderately but are fluctuating more widely. There is currently resistance at the 32 euro/dt mark. REKA is quoting premiums of 4 euros/dt for good quality goods. The market for industrial potatoes is currently unchanged.
Demand for early table potatoes is subdued. Accordingly, offers are not playing a major role.
