Only in Berlin and Cologne have prices been reduced slightly, but this has had little impact on general market availability.
Producer prices for table potatoes continued their downward trend due to increased supply. Thanks to optimal weather conditions, harvesting work is progressing rapidly; however, there is a lack of demand-side impetus. The end of the vacations did not bring the hoped-for revival of the market - only a few targeted advertising campaigns by food retailers provided a slight boost to demand. For the coming weeks, there is now hope that stockpiling activities by producers will reduce supply pressure and thus allow prices to stabilize.
