DK cattle counting: more sows - more pig exports

Denmark: pig count Jan-2015

The recent pig census in Denmark provided an pig increase of 2.5% year compared with date 1 Janas a result.2015 to 2014th

In the inventory categories, however, there are differences. The slaughter pig numbers over 50 kg with 1.3% compared to the previous year less failed, while the numbers of young pigs has risen up to 50 kg 6.6%.

The sows stocks by around 2% have increased compared to the previous date. So obviously traced the clear line of an increasing pig production with the aim of increasing exports. The actually increased export figures underscore this assessment in the year 2014.

For the assessment of the volume of battle in the next few months, the comparison with the Oct 2014 census is revealing.

As a result, it is assumed, that will be the number of fattening pigs over and under 50 kg to about -1% decline in the next few months.  The number of piglets have a slightly decreasing tendency.

The significantly increasing numbers of sows as compared to Jan.-15 Oct. 14 with a repeated 2% increase suggest that in the first half of 2015 further increasing pig exports from Denmark can be expected.

Although Germany of the main purchaser of Danish pig remains, but in the last year, rising deliveries were sent to Poland.  In any case, Denmark able to compensate pig deficits in Europe is.
