EU-preview of the quarterly figures of the battle
In its latest monthly report, the Group of experts of the European Commission has published a prognosis for the development of the battle figures in the coming quarters. As a basis for data results from the month were taken September 2015.
For the past 3rd quarter of July to including September 2015 noted an increase of 3.3%. Earlier forecasts of people is just the half of it.
There are also the most recent estimates for the 4th quarter 2015 with an increase of 2.7% above expectations. The actual battle figures confirm this assessment.
For the 1st quarter of the year 2016 the expert group assumes a slight decrease in the amount of 0.2%.
In the second quarter of the year 2016 , a slight increase over the previous year by 0.1% is expected.
The figures are to be interpreted as always with corresponding reservation . The basis of data from some EU Member States are not always reliable and are based on some rough estimates. However, the weak prices in the past should help that the volume of the battle actually rather goes down as to the top next year. Notes provide the increased slaughter sow numbers. In Holland, it is reported that less (Virgin) sows have been admitted.
For the slaughter in the first quarter in 2016, however all piglets are born and are located in the rearing and fattening stages. Discharge of current supply pressure over lower numbers of sows will be expected at the end of the 2nd quarter at the earliest.
