EU pork volume in the 1.Halbjahr 2015 slightly lower

Commission: decreasing amounts of pork in the first half of 2015

The EU Commission has reconfirmed in their Jan.-2015 - its old forecast monthly report on the situation on the pork market. Numbers of battle of and quantities of meat for the following months were extrapolated on the basis of the stock count results.

It comes out that still comparatively high slaughter will occur in Jan 2015 . The date actually recorded battle figures confirm the forecast result.

The strong drop in the month of Feb-15 is also due to the reduced number of days.  The following months remain well below the values of the last few months.

A decisive factor for the evaluation is the comparison with the prior year periods. Then, % across the EU is expected in the 1st quarter with a slight decline of 0.15. During the month of Feb-15 still on previous line is located, is expected with a slight decrease for Feb and March 2015.

An unchanged amount when compared to the previous year is expected in the second quarter. The lower volume of battle in the months of May and June coincides with the seasonal peak of Grill demand.
