Increased EU pork exports Jan-Sept 2015 - still too little for Russia compensation

Jan - Sep EU pork exports. increased to 5.8% by 2015.

According to the Russian import ban on pork from the EU in the year 2014, the export sector is constantly in search of additional markets.

Compared the delivery months from Jan to Sept 2015 growth of 5.8% succeeded, which however is not sufficient to compensate for the Russian import failure of about 750,000 tons per year.

Remarkable export increases are managed in the direction of China. An increase of 50% for is but partially offset by a decline in Hong Kong by 33%. Both area cancel always apart. However unclear to what extent Hong Kong is specified only as a stop-over.   Exports to China are mainly by the amount of interesting.  The impairment, however, remains low with €1.38 / kg export earnings.

About 21%, South Korea is more pork from the EU-related. This is even more valuable pieces with an average export earnings of some of €3,20 / kg. South Korea has difficulties with self catering because of erupting again pig epidemics.

Japan's pork imports have fallen by 17%. Also in this case, we traded valuable pieces in the order of €3.5 / kg. However, the competition from the United States and Canada is quite strong.

The majority of EU exports to Japan comes from traditionally from Denmark. Germany has started a few pilot tests.

The Philippines is while significant buyers of European pork, but they have to choose between the offers from the United States and Canada, as well as Brazil. The EU export deals have not entirely can compete this year and have fallen by 12%.

Many small deliveries go in the various countries can reach an export by 8%... These markets need to be courted heavily and are very costly.

The EU as a surplus country must take every opportunity possible to keep exports at a high level and whenever possible to improve, to reduce the pressure on prices in the domestic.  However, the is competition with even lower prices than in this country not to underestimate.
