Problems in the pork market block price increases across Europe

(AMI) Low supply and demand confront almost balanced after pigs. Although the supply of pigs is manageable, the abattoirs try to block any rise in prices.

Two leading grocery chains advocate in France rising pork prices, to support the protesting farmers. Export abattoirs and separator, however, strongly complain of weak demand from abroad.
The price development in Belgium followed by 1:1 the German default. This trend to be expected is for the new week. The emergence of weaned pigs is relatively small, but sufficient to meet the weak demand of abattoirs. In the new week, the holiday restricts the battle activities on July 21. In the meat trade, the selling prices despite slightly higher cost prices of pigs were unchanged. Only in the export of halves of the price premiums were invited, because trade is tightly bound by listing oriented.

For three weeks, there is a heat wave which makes the battle weights back commute every week to 500 to 600 g in Spain . Because of the small range, the abattoirs work only in 4 working days. Still the meat market was abundantly supplied with goods, bottlenecks no sign is visible far and wide.

In Italy , the pork prices because of heat-related steady reduction of revenue should rise continued moderate. In addition a buoyant demand for barbecue products from pigs is reported from Italy.
