Future (Futures Contract)

A future is a standardized contract to buy a commodity in the future. It is the instrument most commonly used for risk management. Futures are traded on futures exchanges such as MATIF, EUREX or CBOT. The contract specifies information such as delivery dates, places of delivery and quality.
