Agrar Spreads: Baumwolle
Grüß Gott,
anläßlich der momentanen Entwicklung bei Baumwolle hätte ich eine Frage an dieses Forum:
Beim Handel mit Getreide-Spreads ist ja eine wichtige Orientierungsmarke der "Carry charge". Gibt es diesen auch bei Baumwolle ?
Mir ist natürlich bewusst, dass der Full carry lokal und individuell unterschiedlich ausfällt.
Trotzdem: Kennt jemand vielleicht eine Seite im Internet, welche den aktuellen Full carry von Baumwolle z. B. in einem US-Bundesstaat zeigt ?
Analog etwa zu den Spread worksheets bei http://www.countryhedging.com

Ich habe die Lagerkosten leider auch nur für alle anderen Rohstoffe. Eventuell könnten die Leute von Countryhedging oder den Terminbörsen das wissen.

Jetzt habe ich mich bei einem amerikanischen Broker bezüglich Full carry bei Baumwolle erkundigt. Anbei, seine Antwort:

Peter, I understand and appreciate your question. As a rule of thumb carrying charges in cotton run about 80 points per month, each point being worth $5.00. Obviously that can be reduced if you own your own storage facility. In addition since cotton can deteriorate over time, older cotton is subject penalties, the older the cotton the larger the penalties. Penalties can, and will be assessed, upon cotton that older, as it may have lost some of its fiber qualities (moisture content and tensile strength).
Spreads have on occassion (frequently attributed to the rolling of large long only fund positions) widened beyond what is considered full carry. When that happens it is always an opportunity for a merchant to take a position in which thaey could take delivery and re-deliver in another month. We saw Dec/March widen out over 600 points as it approached first notice day.
