BMEL, DRV, DBV almost unanimously estimate the German rapeseed harvest in 2021 at 3.5 million t.The German rapeseed harvest is estimated by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture (BMEL), the German Raiffeisen Association (DRV) and the German Farmers Association (DBV) with insignificant deviations on the order of 3, 5 million tons estimated. This means that the result remains roughly at the previous year's level, but at -11.3% far below the five-year average for 2015-20. Despite a 5% increase in the area under cultivation to around 1 million hectares, the lower area yields of -4.4% were not enough to exceed the 2020 result. The current yield estimate is 35.3 dt / ha. The results were quite different in the individual federal states. With an increase of almost 27%, Saxony-Anhalt achieved the highest growth compared to the weak previous year due to the area expansion of 21% and an increase in yield of + 4.7%. Lower Saxony reports a harvest increase of 11.8%, primarily due to the increase in area.In Bavaria, 7.3% more were threshed, which is also due to the higher acreage.
